Deleuze synthesizes the accumulated results of philosophy, art, and science of mankind, and overturns the thought of identity and transcendence definitively. He is a proof to reveal the history of Western philosophy is that of reversal of the philosophy of Plato, more precisely, the reversal of the Idea of Plato. With the lead of Deleuze’s philosophy of difference and repetition, the philosophy of multiplicity, the eye and thought of mankind can go out of themselves and look at themselves rightly as the others standing on the plane of immanence. Truth, goodness, and beauty under the name of identity and transcendence lost their validity already. Traditional philosophy and art could construct only those of representation because of the limitations and conditions of eye and thought of their times. The poetics of Classicism covering Plato, Aristotle, Horace, Loginus, etc., is in fact nothing but the ars poetica and rhetoric. The poetics of Romanticism covering Kant, Schiller, Hegel, Nietzsche, Heidegger, etc., couldn’t be free from the genius and subjectivity of the artists, because it was based on the subject or spirit of identity. The poetics of Formalism and Structuralism also couldn’t explain sufficiently the ground of objectivity and autonomy in the structure of poetry. Why, how, and what does a poem say for itself? Whose voice is saying in a poem? Why are the poetic signs opaque? Why are the poets so resistant? Why are the lyric poems still written after Auschwitz? And must be written? Deleuze casts a new light on these questions. He leads us to the new poetics, that is, the poetics of becoming, the poetics of multiplicity, or the poetics of ritornello. Deleuze takes a very positive and friendly view to the modern art, and provides the deep insights into it. Modern art renders the invisible visible, the inaudible audible. Modern artists and poets can hear the music of universe of immanence, and see the secrets of labyrinth of beings. Modern art can at last discover the objective and universal in the depth of universe, and construct it as a monument of sensation. Poetry utilizes as the media the cerebral space itself or the images and signs themselves, so plays a role of the matrix of all genres of art. Cerebral space is a very paradoxical space, a smooth bi-directional space of humour, a rhizommatic space of becoming, a marvelous lightning space of epiphany, a space of liberation escaping from the established territories and codes, and a revolutionary space to begin a creation of new assemblage. Deleuze makes us see the outside of the screen of brain, that is, the outside of thought.
