Nate knows that his new firend Donald is a little different, but he can't believe that a fourth grader like Donald never heard of kooties! Donald doesn't even realize that he's being insluted by Louisa, the class bully, when she names him King of the Kooties - and that's just the beginning of Louisa's war against Donald. So Nate decides to teach Donald to defend himself, realizing that with a boy as gentle as Donald, it's going to have to be a war of wits instead of a war of fists.
