Historic Churches of Barbados has grown from a draft written by the late Barbara Hill in 1977, illustrated with her own black and white photographs and pen sketches. The text has been edited and considerably amplified and additional photographs in colour and in black and white have been provided by Willie Alleyne. The book is a tribute "to Barbara Hill, Bishop Coleridge and the dedicated Barbadian craftsmen who built our churches" (Paul Foster, President, Barbados National Trust). Its aim is to encourage interest and pleasure in our rich legacy of historic churches and to promote their preservation and restoration.
A second expanded edition was published in 2014.
