MAMMALS OF ONTARIO is a reference book giving pertinent information on all of the wild mammals found in Ontario or in Ontario's coastal waters. A short item on research is included for each species, to provide an up-to-date glimpse of what mammalogists are currently studying. Many of these studies are by Canadians, but in the interests of covering a wide variety of projects the research of non-Canadians is included too. Topics discussed in these items are listed in the index. The original research itself can be perused in the volume of the journal indicated, the journal itself being available in university libraries. Further general information on these mammals is available in R. L. Peterson's THE MAMMALS OF EASTERN CANADA (1966), unfortunately now out of print.
