At a hotel in the mountains the Bobbsey twins meet a very grumpy old doodlebug. He accuses Robin Talltree, the pretty young Indian girl, of stealing his bird watching equipment from an ancient stone tower across the lake. "She couldn't have!" says Nan. "She's too nice!"
When the Bobbseys try yo find the real thief, things really start popping. Thrills mount as the twins learn the secret of the dancing sticks, catch the tower "spooks," and make their new friends happy, including even grumpy Mr.Doodlebug.
