THIS YEAR FOR THE FIRST TIME IN OUR HISTORY, A reigning monarch of our Empire comes to visit his people in this Dominion beyond the sea, and our neighbours in the United States of America. As King and Queen of Canada, Their Majesties King George VI and Queen Elizabeth will be royally welcomed on their tour and will be given many demonstrations of the love and loyalty of their subjects.

On the occasion of this Royal tour it is opportune to look back on the personalities of those earlier visitors and the customs, manners and events of the days in which they came here.
